TOBAGO 2002

tuesday :: 16.july.2002

During our tour, Wayne pointed out various plants, birds and other wild life. We saw teak, mahagony, cedar, rubber, cashew, cacao, coconut, mango, breadfruit, pear avocado, star apples, flamboyane, bird of paradise, ginger lily, bamboo, various palms, banyan and salmon spree cotton trees as well.

We tasted cacao beans and coconut water and young coconut. We saw parrots and the shakalaka (the national bird which makes a racous noise), egrets, frigates, weaver birds (and their sack nests), blue-headed something or other; vampire bats, minister crabs and the rustling of a cayman.

We also visited this old Fort. It was interesting to note that Tobago had changed hands many times in its past.
