TOBAGO 2002

tuesday :: 16.july.2002

It is customary on the island to stake cows and goats along the road or in open pastures to graze for the day. Chickens run free or in large fenced areas. Naturally, I didn't actually take pictures of this.

Another thing which was common but seemed strange to me was the posting of signs which forbade foul language or said "No staking of livestock here," -- all indicative of some of the values of the native people and the feeling of the island but which I didn't have enough sense to capture with my camera.

I had a very bad headache at the beginning of the day (which I think was from not drinking enough water). We needed to stop at a roadside store to pick up some Panadol for my headache. A little monkey sat in the store tethered by a chain. Another image I wish I had captured.
