fairy vine necklace 2010
i have a stash of beading kits which will likely take me several years to complete. this design is called fairy vine necklace by laura mccabe. i started this several years ago and then set it aside. earlier this year, i picked it back up again and finished it for mika's birthday.

pocket wheel
back in december 2008, i fell in love with a wheel i came across while i was surfing the web. that wheel was the pocket wheel, by doug dodd, designed originally for his wife. at the time, she was very sick and she passed away the following year.
doug eventually turned over the pocket wheel to jon mccoy, who now makes these beautiful little wheels. jon is the one who took over doug's long waiting list and delivered my wheel to me in june 2010.
here is the pocket wheel side-by-side with my holiday wheel:
i spent that last several days sanding, applying beekeeper's gold (a natural beeswax and mineral oil blend), and buffing the cherry wood wheel.
i've just begun to spin on my new wheel and i am becoming acquainted with how she works. i'm very pleased to finally have her home!

we rule
long gone is the t.v. i rarely turn it on - for years now. i now turn to my ipad and my iphone and my zillions of games to provide me with no-think veg-out stress relief.
we rule is one of a handful of games in my game faves folder. i spend major veg-out time playing this game. i am very proud of my kingdom and four realms. if you play too, friend me (lesleeroberts).
i warn you that i'm very close to my 35 transaction max and i'll drop you if you fail to deliver services more than 3 times. i'm veg'd out, but not that veg'd out.
