christmas eve and christmas dinner
here are christmas pics from rainier. we actually didn't take any in sf this year -- both cheryl and i were still sick. we did our usual video chat throughout the festivities -- it's second best to actually being together but it's surprisingly good, especially since mom has gotten her new laptop which can be positioned now in the middle of the action.

busy vacation
well, i can't show you everything i did during this past week of vacation because i'm a member of santa's elves and sworn to secrecy, but here's something i did finally manage to get done -- this is the karabella boise (cashmere/wool) lace shawl i finished a year ago -- finally being blocked. i had to put the two leaves onto the dining room table to fit this on the board. i can hardly wait to wrap myself up in this one -- it's so, so soft.
