mom just finished lizard ridge #1... i can hardly wait til she finishes lizard ridge #2 (FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
wow!
this past week i finished plying together my very first handspun yarn. this yarn was spun from 11 oz of wisconsin farm-carded cotswold fiber (from funwithyarn.com). it made 5 hanks of yarn -- i have yet to figure out what the yardage or the wraps per inch are and what i can possibly make out of it. this yarn has all the typical beginner mistakes - overspun and cork-screwy but i had so much fun making it. i find the spinning so relaxing. this yarn was spun on my bosworth morado maxi handspindle.
here's the newest addition to dave's and vickie's family (and I thought they decided to wait until after winter!):
so i've been back home for a couple of weeks. dave and vickie came to visit on dave's 50th birthday. this past saturday, we were supposed to go to alcatraz but i didn't know that we had to have tickets in advance until guillermo told me on friday. tickets were sold out for 3 days.
instead, we ended up going to the de young museum in golden gate park. it was my first time there and the chihuly exhibit was still there (lucky me!!)
