custom design session
barb came by yesterday and we had a great time spending the afternoon making custom design jewelry. sorry for the blurry pics.
here's the first piece we did -- emphasis on blue and sparkly (swarovski crystal, silver, bali silver, art glass beads by barbara becker simon):
here's the second piece we did -- we recycled some of her old beads and added some new stuff (calcified coral, art glass, mother of pearl beads, gold vermeil beads and clasp, other semi-precious):

arrived safely
my second trip to el dorado hills / folsom where i had to drive myself. this time, i took my own car... beautiful weather, light traffic, didn't get lost -- one of the best things i've done for myself -- buy that garmin gps system. i'll never regret that major purchase.

sock in progress
here's the latest pair of socks in progress. it's the first time i'm using cherry tree hill supersock yarn (100% superwash merino fingering weight in earth color). i love the feel and look of it -- each individual stitch is so well defined (click on pic for a close-up):
