yesterday, we all took a ride to the santa clara convention center to attend the annual stitches west market. this is an annual conference and market which i first attended last year.
ahhhhh.... so many things to look at and to buy.... i was exhausted by the time we went through all the booths. i picked up some more fantastic sock yarns (maybe they'll be gifts, maybe they'll be for me), a great deal on noro silk garden, miscellaneous books, some tools and some patterns.
joy mentioned that i hadn't posted my completed poncho, so here it is, along with some other things as well.

here's a shrug i whipped up last week:
here's a pearl rope i'm working on (click on pic to see closeup of rope):
antibiotics have kicked in and i've now been fever-free for 24 hours. thank goodness.... that was really scary!
friday night it began...
chills
fever
sweats
stomach pain
nausea
last night i finally took my temperature because i was getting ready to call the nurse chat for some advice since there's been no improvement.
it was 102
well, the nurse suggested i go in right away but by that time, no urgent care services were available -- only emergency care. i hate waiting in emergency, so i took more tylenol and went to bed.
drove myself to urgent care services this morning and waited 3 hours to see the doctor. no definitive diagnosis but he wanted to treat me for acute diverticulitis. i'm taking two antibiotics now. when i go in for my colonoscopy in a few weeks, he told me to let them know so they could look for it.
