made it!
i had to rent a car yesterday for a business trip because my car is not running. i called the rental car agency at 10am to pick me up at 11 am. they told me to call back at 11, which i did. they then told me someone would pick me up in 45 minutes. they never came so i called the agency -- they told me the guy was lost. 20 minutes later, he shows up.
by that time, the rental location was closed (it only opens until noon on saturday) but one person was waiting for me. the car was dirty inside and there was about a 1/4 tank of gas in it. i took it anyway since the only other car available was bright RED.
i drove it home and today, after filling the gas tank, i drove to el dorado hills so i could be there for an 8:30 meeting on monday.
this is the first time i have driven on a freeway in about 4 years -- for cheryl's grandpa's funeral.
the car is a chevy cobalt. it drives clunky -- or maybe it's me?!? no matter.... i made it and i'm still alive.

stomach flu
i am in el dorado hills for a couple weeks of training. i have come down with a stomach flu -- not a nice thing to have when one is on a business trip. i've started on the pink stuff, immodium and ginger ale treatment. it's not a good thing.
i'm also having major problems with the hotel's wireless dsl -- very difficult to get connected. also not a good thing.
