mission: organization (day 3)

nothing to show today. lazed around much of the day and spent time shredding, shredding, shredding.... filled all the garbage cans and the recycle bins... i've got extra bags of shreddies sitting in the foyer. obviously the job is going to outlast the holiday weekend but i'm happy -- substantial progress has been made and i now know that it's definitely achievable. i managed to stitch together a panarama of my bedroom "before" picture. i'll post it when i've got the "after" picture done. it may be some time.

mission: organization (day 2 continued)

9:45 p.m.
just got off a video chat with my mom. i asked her how long she kept copies of her bills and things and she said that she didn't really keep them (except for taxes and receipts for major purchases).... hmmm, i just finished shredding my safeway receipts from 1992 and 1993. i have kept EVERYTHING for at least 10 years. i guess i have a lot of shredding to do. does shredding go in the garbage or in the recycle.... i've already filled up the garbage.

hmmm, i wonder if this problem is related to my other problem... you know, how i can't really tell how much time has passed...

mission: organization (day 1)

many of you know that i've been struggling over the last year with trying to downsize. i must have hit one of those milestones in life where i feel an incredible need to take another step forward in assessing "where i am." but i'm having trouble doing so -- i feel burdened by the clutter.

this long weekend is devoted to taking a literal next step. one of the messiest rooms in my house is my bedroom -- it's worthy of a television episode of mission: organization (hgtv).

and so i begin today. i will be posting my progress throughout the weekend. my goal for today is to clear the north wall and have 3 main piles (keep, toss, give away).

pray for me....

where did it all go? 4 large bags of garbage and shredding, 3 bags of recycle, 2 small piles of give aways, 2 small piles of stuff still to be sorted on my bed

aquamarine crystal

woke up at 1am and was still trying to get back to sleep at 2am so i gave up and went out to the work table and put this necklace together. i love the combination of the freshwater pearls, bali silver spacers and the multicolored faceted czech glass. the focal bead is a piece of aquamarine crystal from 2 cranes.

onward...

mewie's stitches are out. the dreaded collar is off. isolation is over. pilling continues with hyperthyroid medication but, thanks to p and his pilling expertise, even that experience is easier. thanks to all for their advice... i'm sure my technique will improve with time. i had my first uninterrupted night of sleep in nearly 3 weeks. i feel a little better too.
